What Is the Saudi Arabia Business Visit Visa?
Saudi Arabia’s business visit visa now covers all professional and commercial purposes under a single category. Previously, Saudi authorities issued separate Commercial Visit Visas and Working Visit Visas. Today, one unified Business Visit Visa handles both.
This visa suits a wide range of activities. Travellers use it for meetings, negotiations, conferences, site visits and consulting engagements. In short, any trip with a commercial purpose requires this visa.
Who Needs It and What It Covers
The Business Visit Visa is the correct route for:
- Attending meetings, negotiations and conferences
- Visiting clients, partners or suppliers
- Participating in trade events and exhibitions
- Exploratory site visits as part of commercial discussions
However, the Business Visit Visa does not authorise hands-on work, salaried employment, or any payroll-based activity inside the Kingdom. It covers presence for commercial discussions — not delivery of work. For professionals making extended visits or assignments involving actual work delivery, a temporary work visa or an employer of record arrangement is the correct solution. Stay Limits and Processing
For most nationalities, the Saudi Arabia business visit visa allows 90 days per entry with no annual cumulative cap. Furthermore, US nationals benefit from 180 days per entry under bilateral arrangements. Processing takes five to ten working days once the Saudi host company obtains MOFA authorisation.
In contrast, the tourist eVisa caps total stay at 90 cumulative days across the entire visa year. As a result, frequent travellers choose the business visa for operational flexibility.
2026 Restrictions
Saudi authorities currently restrict 14 nationalities to single-entry business visit visas only — Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tunisia and Yemen. Consequently, each trip requires a fresh application. There is no confirmed end date for these restrictions.
